The Mentors

The individual Mentors are current or former technology industry executives -- CEOs, CFOs, COOs, CTOs and SVPs of Sales and Marketing. This experienced team has extensive, varied experience pitching to investors, managing growth, and building and selling companies. Together they are an invaluable resource to emerging companies in the IT and software industries. The Mentors are successful entrepreneurs that have dealt with the challenges and constraints -- obstacles and opportunities -- that face all young companies on the way up.

The Mentors are Partners

Working together they've found they are able to provide extraordinary value to the technology companies in the network.

The Mentors are Volunteers

The technology companies in the network do not pay any fees to the Venture Mentors organization.

The Mentors are Selective

They want to work with entrepreneurial teams who have the smarts, the drive, and the enthusiasm that a successful startup requires.

Some of the Mentors started out as "Mentees" - technology company executives who sought the advice and counsel of Venture Mentors, grew and sold their companies, and are now working as Mentors to try and give back to the next generation of entrepreneurs in their community.

The first chapter of Venture Mentors was launched in the Washington, DC area in 1997.
